Key terms in Force and Motion

Scalar: A physical quantity that has magnitude only, such as mass, time or speed.
Vector: A physical quantity that has both magnitude and direction, such as velocity, force or momentum.
Displacement: The distance moved in a stated direction from a starting point, a vector quantity.
Velocity: The rate of change of displacement, equal to displacement divided by time, a vector quantity.
